I've decided I should blog a little. Why? Mostly because I want an outlet besides creative writing, but before I can get into that stuff, I should give some background info.
First, the vitals. Yes, my real name IS Brad, and as of the time of this writing, I'm 29 years old, living in Phoenix, Arizona with my mother (Bee) and "Dad" (who isn't my biological father, and isn't my mother's biological father, and probably has children although I've never met them either, but in any case, his name's Richard, but I'll always just refer to him as dad because it's shorter than Richard and nicer than calling him Dick). I'm currently engaged to Melanie Toppin, and spent most of the last seven months living with her in Flagstaff, Arizona. Some of that time was spent in the Americana Inn, off Route 66, and some of it was spent in a studio apartment which was made of awesome and win.
And pirated WiFi. Viva la revolution!
I spent most of my life in the American southwest - California and Arizona, although I've been to and stayed in Nevada, and went through Oregon to Washington (lived in WA. for a few months)... Thanks to both my parents being Air Force, I also had the overwhelmingly joyful experience of living in Alaska, where I learned that I hate snow.
I got married at the age of 18, and that failed miserably 'cause I had a heart attack at the age of 22 and everything sort of fell apart after that. I'm currently in the process of getting divorced to get married (see second paragraph).
Currently, I'm unemployed, but Melanie is helping me with money as best she can until I can get another form of income. The ultimate goal is getting a passport and visa to hop the metaphorical pond to join Melanie in Germany. I met Melanie on Second Life on October 1st, 2009, when I was but a lowly DJ, shortly before I became a courtier (and subsequently running the Villa and trying my hand in a dozen SL-related projects that all went to hell). She came out here in the end of July of 2010, and left on January 17th of this year.
To say I'm unemployed isn't exactly true - I'm an author, although I've yet to be published except by a print-on-demand place, which isn't saying much. I have, however, finished a book (Unda Vosari: Legends) and have more in the works. Day to day, I'm writing a series of short stories (1,000 words per chapter, about 6-7 chapters per arc, with no set number of arcs from beginning to end) entitled Unda Vosari: Chronicles, which I'm putting on a wiki to get the word out about my other pieces, and hopefully generate some donations while I finish the sequels to the first novel (there are currently about four I'm obligated to write, with one almost done, one a quarter of the way done, and two more that I've got completely planned and mapped out in my mind, but unwritten in every other sense of the word).
So! This is the obligatory "about me" introduction post. I'll eventually (most likely soon) start posting those inner thoughts and rants that every blog has, but not tonight. I've got some more stories in my head I want to get down before they seep out of my ear in my sleep...
